FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Date: September 15, 2016 Contact: Rebeca Checo, Communication & PR Assistant Email: pr@atlanticave.org NYC’s Ultimate Street Festival is Soon Approaching with New Attractions for All Ages Brooklyn, New York—September 15, 2016– This year’s Atlantic Antic™ Street Festival, produced by the Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corporation (AALDC) will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2016 from 12pm to 6pm, rain or shine, along Atlantic Avenue from Hicks Street to Fourth Avenue. This 10-block long festival takes place in the heart of Brooklyn spanning through the four diverse neighborhoods of Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill, Brooklyn Heights and Downtown Brooklyn. The 42nd Annual Atlantic Antic™ Festival brings together visitors through the celebration of food, shopping, culture, music and the community. Atlantic Avenue in Living Color is the theme of this year’s Atlantic Antic™ with its main purpose to highlight the diversity of local merchants, vendors and visitors that participate and attend the Atlantic Antic™ Festival each year. New for this year, the Atlantic Avenue in Living Color’s Post-Antic Promotion will occur after the Atlantic Antic™ Festival between October 1st-16th. Attendees of the festival will be able to come back to Atlantic Avenue after the Atlantic Antic™ Festival to shop, dine and explore while enjoying discounts and special giveaways from our local merchants. This year’s Kids Zone, sponsored by NYU Langone Medical Center, will feature pony rides, bounce houses, face painters and for the first time ever, a petting zoo and trackless train will be among the many attractions within the festival for kids of all ages. The Petting Zoo along with the Trackless Train, located within the Kids Zone; between Boerum Place and Smith Street, will be sponsored by Pony Express Entertainment. Half of all earnings from the Petting Zoo and Trackless Train will be donated to the AALDC’s Youth Community Scholarship Program (YCSP), a scholarship program dedicated to enriching local children with academic and arts programs. With more than 500 vendors, 100 local merchants and 12 live entertainment stages, the 42nd  Annual Atlantic Antic™ Festival is comprised with some of the most exciting and emerging performances all taking place on Atlantic Avenue on September 25, 2016 between 12pm-6pm. On the Atlantic Antic™ Main Stage, performances will vary from the acapella sensation, Backtrack to the Young Australian Broadway Chorus traveling all the way from Melbourne, Australia.  Along with the Atlantic Antic™ Main Stage, this year’s Community Stage will be sponsored by Weill Cornell Medical College, with performances by our YCSP’s program partners, Weill Cornell Medicine’s Jazz Ensemble and many more.
