Brooklyn Non-Profit Launches Sixth Year of Youth Community Scholarship Program

Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corporation (AALDC) launches its sixth year of their Youth Community Scholarship program which provides local youth opportunities to attend enrichment programs throughout the year. Children will attend programs located in five Brooklyn neighborhoods-Boerum Hill, Brooklyn Heights, Fort Greene, Downtown Brooklyn, and Clinton Hill. From its start in 2015, the program has grown from four partners to 18.

There are a variety of enriching summer and fall programs for parents to choose from. The 2020 program partners are Brooklyn Ballet, Mathnasium of Boerum Hill, Automatic Studios, Brooklyn Robot Foundry, Pixel Academy, Gotham Gymnastics, Read 718, Creative Arts Studio, Super Soccer Stars at Upper 90 Soccer Brooklyn, Mark Morris Dance Center, Brooklyn Music Factory, Brooklyn Boulders, Brooklyn Crescents Lacrosse, Yokey Pokey, Brooklyn Fencing Center, Dodge YMCA, and Gotham Archery. Children have the opportunity to explore their talents and learn new skills.

AALDC Executive Director Tammy Ben-Eliezer-Baxter commented, “The goal of the AALDC Youth Community Scholarship Program is to create opportunities for children and their families within our Brooklyn community.  We have created long-lasting partnerships with several youth organizations and schools over the years and we look forward to continuing to grow the program.”

The AALDC Youth Community Scholarship Program application is only available online and to complete the form, please visit https://atlanticave.org/scholarshipapply/

AALDC provides funding for children who live or attend school in Brooklyn Public School Districts 13 and 15. These local youth have the opportunity to attend a variety of enriching programs. The Youth Community Scholarship Program’s focus is to provide local youth the chance to experience programs that will allow them to learn, create, and flourish.
