Atlantic Avenue Welcomes the Holiday Season with Special Events and Savings

It’s a Happy Holiday Season as you can SEE, FEEL & HEAR on Atlantic Avenue in the heart of Brooklyn, New York! The Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corporation (AALDC) will host their annual holiday events with its first event being the Annual Atlantic Avenue Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony & Party. On Thursday, December 8th between 6-8pm, families from the community will gather at the St. Cyril of Turov Belarusian Church, located at 401 Atlantic Avenue, for an evening filled with holiday spirit and festive fun. The tree-lighting ceremony will be officiated by New York City Council Member Stephen T. Levin, promptly at 6pm.

To kick off the holiday season, AALDC’s Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony & Party will showcase live performances from local public schools including P.S 38, P.S 261 and the Brooklyn High School of the Arts with a special musical performance from The Unique Band. With the arrival of special guest, Santa, attendees will be able to enjoy the festive mood throughout the evening. This event is free and open to the public.

Following the live musical performances, visitors will be able to enjoy refreshments and complimentary small bites donated by some of our local Atlantic Avenue Merchants- Atlantic Bagel Café, Pair Wine & Cheese, Sultan Restaurant & Café Lounge, Luzzo’s BK, Key Food,  Beasts & Bottles, Brado Thin Crust Pizza, Mitoushi Sushi, Sahadi’s, Della Pietras, Trader Joe’s, Sottocasa Pizzeria, The Soul Spot Restaurant, Betty Bakery, Nevins Gourmet Deli and Moon Café.

The AALDC will announce the 2016 Atlantic Avenue Holiday Window Judging Competition Awardees during the Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony & Party. Participating Atlantic Avenue Merchants will have toy boxes throughout the season until December 8th where visitors will be able to bring unwrapped toys for the Annual Holiday Toy Drive.
